The Tzu-Union
A Tzu-Union is a reunion of Shih Tzu and Furbaby Rescue volunteers, adopters, supporters, and friends.
Please join Shih Tzu and Furbaby Rescue at our Annual Tzu-Union in Saint Mary’s, Georgia. It’s a retreat with dogs! This year, we will come together May 3 through May 5, in Saint Mary’s, GA for a weekend of “Furbabies, Friendship and Fundraising.”
We will have :
- Educational sessions
- Fundraising auctions and raffles
- Grooming demonstrations
- Great food
- Great conversation
- Our foster and forever babies
Event Information
Events like this are not only great fun, but also help to make Shih Tzu and Furbaby Rescue a stronger organization. It’s a time to meet our rescue family – dedicated volunteers and supporters, adopters, and the dogs who found new lives in our rescue program. This year there will also be a few dogs available for adoption. If you are approved to adopt, you might just meet your new furbaby here. We believe it’s important to actually meet the people we work with on the internet or phone, to save the dogs who need us. It’s good to put voices with smiling faces.
If you plan to attend, please let us know. We need a count to set up the meeting room, have enough handouts, and a count for the caterer.
This year we waived the usual cost – the registration fee of $25 includes 3 lunches, 2 dinners, beverages, snacks, handouts, and special gifts.

Itinerary
Directions
If you are driving, from I-95 take exit 1 in Georgia. The hotel is a straight run and 5 miles from the interstate.
If you are flying, you’ll want to fly into JAX, Jacksonville International Airport in Jacksonville, FL. We can pick you up, there is no need to rent a car.
We are also planning on ride shares for Jacksonville people.

Call the SureStay Plus Hotel directly at (912) 882-6250 and identify yourself as a member of the Shih Tzu & Furbaby Rescue. We have reduced rates, but the hotel has limited availabllity. At this time, there may only be Suites available

There is a reduced pet fee of $20 per dog per night. If the hotel is full, there are several pet friendly hotels in Kingsland ,GA, at Exit 3 on I-95. There are also pet friendly Airbnb’s in the area, The entire Tzu-Union, dogs included, will take place at the SureStay Hotel – they have a wonderfully large banquet room, a sound system, and outdoor areas to safely walk and exercise our babies.
